New collaboration with Lær for Livet

New collaboration with Lær for Livet

We are pleased to have entered into a new partnership with Lær for Livet (the name translates to "Learn for Life"); a non-profit organization that works to give children and young people in vulnerable positions the best possible conditions for learning and well-being. Through learning courses, camps and mentoring schemes, Lær for Livet helps children complete a youth education and create a good life for themselves.

At itpilot, we look forward to contributing with what we specialize in: developing and delivering digital solutions that support Lær for Livet's important efforts and that create real value.

Who is Lær for Livet?

Lær for Livet was established in 2013 and works across Denmark to strengthen children and young people's learning and opportunities. The organization's primary efforts are based on a learning program, where participants are offered, among other things:

  • Learning Camps: Academic, motivating camp courses with a focus on Danish and mathematics
  • Mentoring scheme: Volunteer mentors who support the child with both professional and personal goals
  • Bridge-Building: Collaborating with schools, homes, and social networks to create wholeness and stability

The effort has been documented by, among others, DPU, Aarhus University and Kraka Economics and shows clear results in terms of children's well-being, school attendance and opportunities for further education.

The organization receives support from, among others, the Egmont Foundation, TrygFonden, Lauritzen Foundation, Richter Foundation, LB Foreningen and several other large foundations and also has support from municipalities, research environments and civil society.

A strategic collaboration

The collaboration includes a business-critical system that will support both the daily operations and the strategic development of Lær for Livet. Therefore, it is important for both parties that the project is based on close cooperation and mutual trust.

At itpilot, we not only act as a technical supplier; we also contribute with advice and strategic sparring. During the project, we review and reconsider a number of their business processes together with Lær for Livet with the aim of optimizing workflows and strengthening the organization's overall efficiency.

A new and modern Odoo solution

Lær for Livet has been using Odoo as an ERP platform for a long time, but the previous version (v12) could no longer keep up with the organization's development and increasing complexity. Therefore, the need arose to either migrate to a new system or replace Odoo 12 with Odoo 18, which is the latest version of the platform.

Lær for Livet chose Odoo 18 and itpilot as a collaboration partner for the task.

Instead of porting the existing solution one-for-one, we build a new platform from scratch with a focus on using Odoo's standard functionality as much as possible. This provides a simpler and easier to maintain solution that both facilitates daily operations and makes it easier to adapt and further develop the system as the organization's needs change.

We are already well on our way

The collaboration with Lær for Livet is already well underway, and we hold ongoing workshops to ensure that the new solution supports both existing and future needs.

At itpilot, we are proud to be able to support an organization that works every day to create better opportunities for children and young people in Denmark.

Karen Haumann, director of Learn For Life, says:

"At Lær for Livet, we are currently undergoing a comprehensive digitalization process that will further professionalize our organization. A new, modern administration and member management system, based on Odoo, is a central piece in this development, ensuring efficient workflows, strengthening data security and helping us deliver high quality in our efforts for children and young people in vulnerable positions. The collaboration with itpilot gives us both the technical expertise to realize this and the strategic sparring we need."
