Odoo 19 has been launched – get an overview of the news here

Odoo Experience has just taken place in Brussels, and we sent 3 of our IT pilots to learn much more about the news that Odoo 19 brings.

Odoo 19 builds on the foundation of Odoo 18, which gave us mobility, stronger quote tools and more efficient administration. Odoo 19 takes a significant step forward: Artificial intelligence has moved from “smart gimmick” to practical helper, ESG has got its own module, and the user experience has been tightened up across apps — from sales to accounting, webshop, projects and production. In our “sneak peek” we were able to tell a little about these directions; now they have been rolled out into real features.

Watch Emilie, Jannik and Michael talk about their experiences in the video here, or read on to get the full overview of the news.

AI

AI has become an integral part

One of the big news in Odoo 19 is that AI has become an integrated part of the entire platform. AI can be used to optimize workflows in Odoo; it helps create reports, summarize previous correspondence in CRM, helps predict purchasing needs and much more.

Specific examples from everyday life

Imagine a salesperson opening a lead that contains several emails back and forth, a few documents, and perhaps a chat with colleagues. Instead of skimming through it all manually, the salesperson gets a short, precise summary: what the customer asked about, what you previously promised, and what next steps make sense.

The same experience is repeated in the quotation process, where AI helps get templates, text and structure in place without you giving up control.

Planning and purchasing with fewer clicks

In Project, AI also helps save time on setup. When you start a recurring project type, Odoo 19 gives you templates with pre-filled phases, tasks, and responsible parties. AI can help distribute the work wisely and suggest realistic deadlines so that planning isn't drowned in manual clicks.

In Purchase, for example, AI can analyze previous order and inventory data and suggest when you should reorder items, so you avoid both sold-out shelves and overstocked warehouses.

Built-in AI agent helps you further

Finally, Odoo 19 has a built-in AI agent that you can ask directly. If you need to find specific data, do a quick search in your pipeline, or set up a report, you can simply formulate your needs in plain language and the system will deliver a quote. This makes it much easier to quickly go from idea to insight, without having to know all the field names or build advanced filters yourself.

In short, AI in Odoo 19 makes it easier to work smarter. It frees up time, removes friction in everyday life, and gives you better decision-making in the situations where it matters most.

ESG reporting

ESG reporting is made easier

The ESG module in Odoo 19 is not “just” a report generator. It is a tool that continuously builds a fact-based picture of your carbon footprint by drawing on data you already work with: purchases and expenses in Accounting, driving and company cars in Fleet, employee data in Employees, energy consumption from suppliers, and manual input where it makes sense. This means you can follow developments in real time.

In practice, this means that a purchase invoice is not simply posted to the accounts. If an emission factor is linked to the supplier, product or account, the emissions are automatically recorded in your CO₂ accounting via the ESG module. This way, ESG work becomes an integrated part of daily operations – without the need for manual entry or time-consuming calculations in a separate system.

Here are some specific examples of data that can be automatically included in your ESG report:

  • An electricity bill is directly linked to the emissions from your electricity consumption.
  • A purchase of office furniture automatically counts towards Scope 3 emissions.
  • Transport and fuel consumption in Fleet is converted into CO₂, based on kilometers driven and fuel type.
  • Travel activities can be recorded and counted as part of the company's overall footprint.

Scope 1, 2 and 3 give the full picture of your emissions

Odoo 19 supports the international standard for dividing CO₂ emissions into Scope 1, 2 and 3:

  • Scope 1: Direct emissions – e.g. fuel for the company's own vehicles, machinery or production equipment.
  • Scope 2: Indirect emissions from energy – e.g. purchased electricity or district heating.
  • Scope 3: Other indirect emissions – e.g. the supply chain, purchased goods and services, waste management and employee travel.

The calculations are based on international emission databases such as IPCC (the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) and ADEME (the French environment agency). This ensures that emissions are always based on standardized factors, making reporting reliable and comparable.

ESG as a strategic tool

In short, with Odoo 19 you get the opportunity to work strategically with ESG. You get ongoing insight into your emissions, can work actively with supplier selection, transport modes and energy consumption, and you get documentation that supports both investors, customers and employees. This makes ESG not only a matter of compliance, but also a tool to strengthen competitiveness, credibility and relationships.

Quotes & sales

The bidding process becomes more flexible

One of the new features in Odoo 18 was that it became easier to create beautiful PDF offers, which made the presentation more professional. In Odoo 19, there are changes in the way you build offers. Now, an offer can be divided into sections and subsections, so that the customer has a clear structure to relate to. At the same time, you can choose to hide prices in individual parts, so that technical descriptions or additional services can be explained without complicating the overall price.

Let us take a specific example:

A customer contacts the website, and the lead automatically lands in the CRM, from where the salesperson can also send messages. When the customer is ready to buy, the salesperson can create an offer, where sections are listed with prices, while additional services and products included in the section are displayed without prices. When the customer opens the portal, they see exactly what is binding and what is just information.

Confirmation and deposit

We already know the online confirmation itself, but in Odoo 19 the process has become tighter and more flexible. What's new is that the customer can now pay a deposit directly upon approval - i.e. online payment after the signature has been given.

In our example above, the customer accepts the offer in the portal, digitally signs and pays 20% of the order immediately. The system automatically updates the status in CRM and records the payment in the accounts.

AI integrated into CRM

In the CRM pipeline, AI helps you prioritize and summarize leads so that salespeople can spend more time on qualified conversations and less time searching through threads and notes. AI prioritizes leads based on likelihood of closing, recent activity, and your own historical data.

Imagine the salesperson in the example above returning from vacation: the pipeline will show the cases where the customer has been most active at the top – complete with a summary of what the customer is waiting for. This saves time and ensures that the focus is on the right leads.

AI doesn’t just help individual salespeople. When multiple people are working on the same account, summaries provide a shared picture of status. This reduces the risk of misunderstandings and duplication of work and ensures that the entire team is working in the same direction.

Website & eCommerce

Website and webshop become more user-friendly

In Odoo 19, it becomes even easier to create and maintain a website and webshop – even if you are not a web developer. There are new, ready-made layouts and blocks that can be inserted with just a few clicks. This means that you can quickly build a page that looks professional, whether it is a home page, a product overview or a campaign page.

If you run a webshop, you can also look forward to the fact that product pages have been given a significant boost. You can now supplement them with video, so that a product is presented vividly and more convincingly. Badges and ribbons can automatically mark news or campaigns, and variants (e.g. colors or materials) can be displayed with images instead of text. This gives customers a clear picture of what they are getting and reduces the risk of wrong purchases.

In addition, the filters in the category overview have become simpler, you can hover over product cards and see variants immediately, and a sticky bar is included on the page, so that search and sorting/filters are always at hand.

In short, Odoo provides 19 new options for creating a modern website and webshop - easily and simply.

AI helps with content and SEO

Many people use AI to write texts, and that is why it has also become a natural part and option in Odoo 19. With a single click, you can generate product descriptions, have content translated into multiple languages, or have SEO fields such as title, description, and keywords filled in. In addition, it is now possible to insert ALT texts on images and check accessibility – so that both search engines and customers have a better experience.

More sales channels with less work

With Odoo 19, you can easily get your products out to multiple channels. Integration with Google Merchant Center ensures that your ads always show the right products, prices and stock status. At the same time, the catalog can be directly linked to social platforms and marketplaces such as TikTok Shop, Facebook, Instagram and Amazon. This means that you can be visible on multiple channels at the same time – without additional administration – and thus reach far more customers with the same effort.

Inventory

Warehouse management becomes easier

Odoo 19 removes many of the manual steps typically found in inventory management, so you can spend your time running your business instead of fixing errors and maintaining Excel sheets. Shipments can now be planned smarter, because deliveries can be moved directly onto a card, and picking tasks can be merged automatically. At the same time, batches and packages can be handled much more flexibly, so complex orders do not require separate workarounds. The result is that goods get off the shelf and out to the customer faster – without extra clicks.

Smarter planning and replenishment

An important new feature is that planning and replenishment are based more on data than gut feelings. Master Production Schedule provides a more realistic picture of demand and warns when forecasts are set too low.

At the same time, the reorder rules have become smarter: they can take into account time horizons, deadlines and historical key figures and use the right units from supplier price lists and BOMs. In practice, this means that the system can suggest the right quantities for purchasing and that you avoid situations where the stock runs out or is replenished unnecessarily.

Daily operations with fewer manual clicks

Daily inventory management has also become simpler and more automated. When a count is adjusted, reservations are updated immediately so that the next picking task is not disrupted. Quantities can be changed directly on the product card, and inventory valuation has become easier to handle with a new closing function and the option of controlled reversal. This gives accounting greater security and warehouse managers fewer obstacles in their daily work.

Stronger traceability and quality

Odoo 19 makes it easier to keep track of items across batches and serial numbers. The traceability report now shows both supplier and customer names directly in the system, and you can click on the associated transactions without having to go through multiple menus. This makes it faster to answer questions about, for example, complaints or recalls. At the same time, the system supports expiration dates and forecasts, so you can identify items that need to be removed from the warehouse before they lose value.

Easier setup and better reports

Odoo 19 also focuses on making the setup more manageable. Unnecessary default locations have been removed, and routes can be combined directly on sales order lines, providing more flexible order management.

At the same time, both reports and filters have become sharper: you can quickly spot sales orders where delivery is at risk of being delayed, and picking and delivery notes give a clearer picture of where the goods are in the flow. Combined with new suggestions for reorder quantities directly in the supplier catalog, this gives you a better basis for decision-making.

POS

POS makes it easier to run a store and restaurant

POS in Odoo 19 comes with predefined setups, so you can choose a template that matches your operation, whether it's retail, restaurant or takeaway/delivery. This means you can get started quickly, experience fewer errors and have a more efficient everyday life, without having to spend time on setup.

Retail

In retail, the most common features are ready to go. Product categories, discounts, promotions, and inventory integration are already set up, so when an item is sold, the inventory is automatically updated. Employees can quickly find both price and inventory, reducing errors and making it easier to provide good service.

In Odoo 19, the POS experience has also become even more fluid with faster product search, easier handling of returns and exchanges, and integration with customer loyalty programs. This makes it possible to deliver a more efficient and personalized service, reducing checkout wait times and increasing customer satisfaction.

Restaurant

For restaurants, Odoo 19 means that menus, table plans and kitchen flow can be used without additional setup. Guests can order via QR menus from their mobile, and orders are sent directly to the kitchen, saving time and reducing errors. At the same time, operations have been strengthened, especially during busy periods.

Table management becomes more flexible, so tables can be moved or merged with just a few clicks, and communication to the kitchen is done through Kitchen Display Systems. This provides a more efficient flow from waiter to kitchen. Bills can also be split in a few seconds, so that payment does not slow down the running of a company. All of this helps to optimize table turnover and give guests an even better experience.

Takeaway

For takeaway and delivery, Odoo 19 has a template ready for online orders, payments and integration with delivery solutions. The system now supports closer connections to external delivery partners through the UrbanPiper platform. This means that, for example, you can integrate with JustEat so that orders can be automatically forwarded without manual intermediaries*. At the same time, route planning has been optimized, ensuring that customers receive more precise delivery times. This provides a professional setup where the entire process from order to delivery appears streamlined and well-thought-out.

* To use the integrations via UrbanPiper, you must have an active UrbanPiper agreement and be running Odoo Enterprise. Each connected platform also requires its own partner or reseller account. Once set up, everything is handled centrally in Odoo, eliminating the need to manually maintain menus and orders across apps.

More insight for management

Odoo 19’s POS also gives management a better overview. Sales data from stores and restaurants is sent directly to accounting, inventory and reports, giving a clear picture of which products or dishes sell best, when sales peak and where margins are highest. This makes it easier to make decisions based on facts rather than gut feelings.

Accounting

Better tools for accounting and compliance

Accounting is an area where even small improvements can make a big difference in everyday life. With Odoo 19, it has become significantly easier to keep track of the numbers. Many of the tasks that previously required many clicks and manual selections now run almost automatically.

Easier user experience

When you open the accounting module in Odoo 19, you will immediately notice that the navigation has become more logical. Menus and forms have been cleaned up, and the most used functions are closer to hand. Invoice lines can be displayed differently depending on whether it is a customer or supplier invoice, so you get exactly the information you need – without drowning in unnecessary details.

The VAT and tax section has also become smarter. Where previously you had to remember the rules yourself, Odoo 19 now helps you apply the right ones automatically. For the accountant, this means fewer worries and greater security in the fact that the reports will be correct the first time.

Bank reconciliation with fewer clicks

For many, bank reconciliation is a task that can quickly feel like a time-consuming puzzle. In Odoo 19, that experience has changed. When the accountant opens the bank reconciliation on Monday morning, the suggestions are already ready: the system has recognized the transactions based on history and patterns and placed them in the correct accounts. Discrepancies are highlighted so you can quickly see what needs attention.

It provides an experience of flow: click, browse, approve.

Stronger handling of invoices and receipts

The invoice flow has also been improved in Odoo 19. Possible duplicates are clearly marked to avoid double postings. Debit notes have their own button so they no longer have to be found in a hidden menu. OCR-scanned documents can now be corrected directly in the system, meaning you don't have to start over if a field is read incorrectly.

At the same time, purchase and sales receipts have been integrated into the invoice and billing flow. In practice, this means that everything is collected in one clear process, and you thus avoid jumping back and forth between different menus.

Better reporting and auditing

When it comes to reviewing the numbers – internally or with an auditor – Odoo 19 becomes a powerful tool. The audit trail has been expanded so that every entry can be traced all the way back to its origin. This provides full transparency and makes it easier to answer questions from the auditor without lengthy explanations.

Reports can also be enriched with comments, so that notes and decisions are saved along with the figures. At the same time, new report types such as the summary annual report or the improved reminder report provide an even better overview of both the company's overall finances and the invoices that are outstanding.

Danish compliance with Odoopilot

When you choose Odoo at itpilot, we deliver it with Odoopilot; an accounting system that is approved by the Danish Business Authority and registered under FOB no. fob913960.

The approval means that the system has been tested against the legal requirements that apply to digital accounting systems in Denmark. This means you have full confidence that your financial management complies with the regulations from day one.

What's special about Odoopilot is that it's built directly into Odoo. This means that compliance doesn't become an extra system layer, but a natural part of your daily work. All data flows automatically:

With Odoopilot, the central requirements of the Accounting Act are complied with:

  • Transactions are recorded digitally and can be tracked throughout.
  • Documents are stored securely in the system, linked to the correct entries.
  • Entries cannot be deleted, but must be corrected correctly so that the audit trail is intact.
  • EAN invoicing allows you to send and receive electronic invoices in Nemhandel format directly from Odoo, ensuring compliance with legal requirements for trading with public institutions.
  • Backup is done automatically, and data can be read out to authorities if required.

In short, you get both a solution that is legally compliant and a solution that makes work easier in practice: fewer manual entries, fewer system changes and a more flexible everyday life for both accounting and management.

Projects, planning & production

Projects, planning and production provide an even better overview

Managing projects or a production often requires juggling many systems and manual Excel sheets. In Odoo 19, it has become much easier to gather the threads into one tool that provides overview and flexibility.

Structure from day one

New project templates make it easy to get off to a good start. When you create a familiar project type, such as a customer project, a service task, or an internal development project, standard phases, tasks, and responsible parties are already in place. This means you can focus on the content instead of the setup itself, and all projects have a consistent structure that is easier to manage and report on.

Additionally, the calendar and Gantt views have become more flexible, allowing tasks and phases to be easily moved around with greater certainty. If a dependency is moved, you immediately see how it affects the next phases and where buffers are at risk of disappearing. This gives project managers the peace of mind to make decisions without having to fear hidden consequences.

For example, when you create a new customer project where you have to deliver a new solution, the project manager can start with a template that already contains phases such as analysis, design, implementation and testing. AI can suggest deadlines and distribute the tasks to the team. Along the way, phases can be moved in the Gantt view, where the consequences are immediately clear: if you move the design by two days, you see how it affects implementation and testing. The project manager can therefore make decisions with a complete overview.

More control in production

For manufacturing companies, one of the big news is that Manufacturing Orders can now be planned directly in the Gantt view. The production manager can see bottlenecks and resource conflicts in one overall picture and can adjust in real time. For example, think of a situation where an urgent order lands in the middle of a busy week. With Odoo 19, you can quickly move around and reprioritize without losing track of the entire production plan.

Additionally, Odoo 19 also introduces Project Forecast. This feature gives project managers a dynamic overview of the project’s expected resource consumption, profitability and progress in real time. Based on tasks, time records and allocated resources, you can now predict bottlenecks, identify projects that are potentially over budget or over time, and thus make proactive decisions.

Imagine being able to see which projects will soon run out of resources, or which are at risk of generating a deficit, before it happens. Project Forecast helps you optimize your resource utilization across projects and ensure healthy project finances.

From details to totality

Common to projects, planning and production is that Odoo 19 makes it possible to zoom in on the detail and then out to the whole – without losing the context. This gives a stronger sense of control, and you can go from daily task list to strategic overview in just a few clicks.

Communication & documents

Overview of both messages and documents

In Odoo 19, the small details that make everyday life easier have been tweaked: communication becomes more focused, documents feel like an integrated part of the work, and signatures are done with just a few clicks.

More focused communication

In Discuss and portals, it's easier to stay on top of what's important – without drowning in irrelevant notifications. Messages are grouped more intelligently, so a project team can quickly get an overview, even if several departments are writing together. A colleague who only needs to approve a single part of a case can just see the relevant threads instead of the entire history.

This is where AI will also play an important role: Long threads can be summarized into short conclusions: Who should do what, and what has been agreed? If action is needed, AI can even suggest the next step, e.g. creating a task in the project or sending a reminder to the customer.

Documents closer to the task

The Documents app now supports multiple file types, and files can be previewed directly in the system. This means a colleague can view a supplier invoice, chart, or report without downloading the file first. The document can also be linked directly to the relevant task, order, or invoice, so everyone sees the same version.

The integrated AI also makes document management even easier. The AI can automatically suggest categorizing new files for the right project, and if you’re looking for a specific detail, you can simply ask: “Find the contract where the customer asked for a 3-year warranty.” The AI can also provide a quick summary of a longer document, saving you from having to read 20 pages just to find the key points.

Faster signatures

With Odoo Signature, the path from draft to binding agreement has become shorter in Odoo 19. A quote created in CRM can be sent to the customer, digitally signed, and automatically stored in both Documents and Accounting without manual intermediaries. Once the customer has signed, the salesperson can immediately see the agreement in CRM, while the finance department already has the document linked to the invoicing.

Cross-platform communication with AI

As the previous sections also show, one of the biggest advantages is that AI acts as a common helper across modules. Whether it’s a message thread, a contract, or a report, you can formulate your needs in plain language: “Show me the latest version of the agreement with supplier X” or “Summarize what we need to close project Y.” The result appears without you having to remember which app or folder it was in.

Industry solutions

Even more industry solutions

In Odoo 18, a wide range of industry-specific solutions were introduced. The purpose of the industry solutions is to make it faster to get started with standard processes. In Odoo 19, 100 new industry solutions have now been added, so even more types of companies can use Odoo without starting from scratch.

What do you get with an industry solution?

An industry solution is a comprehensive package solution where Odoo has already set up the most common functions for you:

  • Standardized workflows for the most typical processes in your industry.
  • Templates for reports, documents, and dashboards.
  • Pre-selected apps that are logically related.

This means you can focus on customizing the things that create competitive advantage rather than spending time setting up basic features.

See examples of industry solutions here ->

Setup and implementation becomes easier

Although Odoo delivers a strong package of ready-made industry solutions, it still requires experience to make it all work in practice. At itpilot, we are a certified Odoo Partner in Denmark, and we help you choose the industry solution that best suits your company – and we help you adapt and implement it so that it reflects your processes.

We know that Odoo rarely stands alone.
